10651 Before notary Becquet, Louis Rouer de Villeray, councillor and agent for Francois Berthelot, Count de Jouy en Josas et de Saint-Laurent, Pierre was granted a lease for the mill at Sainte-Famille. Pierre was "presently living in the seigneurie of Sault a la Puce". The lease was for three years beginning on All Saints Day. The mill that Pierre would operate was a water mill "making wheat flour furnishing all the utensils which belonged to the Seigneur Count located on the said island of Saint-Laurent in the parish of Sainte-Famille with the house and site which he had acquired from the seller Lagrange". The rent for the three year lease was two hundred fifty minots of "French wheat and genuine" per year. 10656 Before notary Claude Maugue, Pierre agreed to lease his land at Laprairie Saint-Lambert to Andre Marsil. The rental and the lease would be for three years and three harvests of all products coming from the land. The homestead measured three arpents in frontage by twenty deep. It included outbuildings and workable land. Marsil agreed to clear three arpents to the waters edge, to cut the wood so cleared, and to remove the part which was found next to neighbor widow Destaillis' land. Richer would pay, at the end of the lease, for work done by pickaxe on the said three arpents which had to be ready for seeding. The document was signed by de Chavigny, Eustache Lambert and the notary in the home of seigneurie Vincelotte.
Francois also agreed to manage the farm of de Chavigny. Genevieve would provide the seed grains that he would plant and harvest, of which half he would keep for himself.
