The marriage of Miss Edna Valliere, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Valliere, to Mr. Ewart F. Creighton, of Chicago, was celebrated Saturday morning, January 2, at 9 o'clock at St. Joachim's church. Rev. Jos Oster, C., SS. P., officiated. Miss Adele Valliere, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid and Mr. Michael D. Beaver, of Jamestown, N.Y., assisted as best man.
The bride was attired in cream messaline with picture hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of bridal roses. The bridesmaid wore pearly gray messaline with hat to match and carried pink roses.
Among the out of town guests were Mr. Michael D. Beaver, Jamestown, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Valliere, Dayton, O.; Mr. Walter Valliere and Miss Sophia Hanson, Cleveland, O. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride, 250 Jos. Campau avenue, which was decorated with holly and poinsettia, and dinner was served to the immediate families, after which Mr. and Mrs. Creighton, left for Chicago, their future home.

Well-known Detroit Woman Died in Mt. Clemens.

Mrs. Augustus Valliere, who was a resident of Detroit for more than half a century, died yesterday at her home in Mt. Clemens, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Valliere, the daughter of Adelaide Gagnon, was born near Quebec, nearly 78 years ago. She came to Detroit with her parents at an early age. Fifty-seven years ago she was united in marriage with Mr. Valliere, who kept the Montreal hotel in this city, for about twenty-two years. Three years since she took up her residence with her husband in Mt. Clemens, where her two daughters reside.
The members of the family surviving Mrs. Valliere are Mr. Valliere and children; Augustus, Jr., and John B., of Detroit, and Mrs. Edmund Peltier and Mrs. Louis Peltier, of Mt. Clemens.
The funeral will take place from St. Joachims's church Monday morning, the first services taking place at the residence of John B. Valliere, 234 Montcalm street east. Mrs. Valliere was at one time a member of the old St. Anne's church and of St. Joachim's church.

15987 MRS. DOSITHE CLAIROUX
Many friends and sympathizers attended the funeral this morning of Mrs. Dosithe Clairoux, a resident of Ottawa for most of her life, who died Monday.
The cortege proceeded from her late home, 144 George street, to Notre Dame church, Hull, where Rev. Father Ubald Delongchamps chanted requiem high mass at eight o'clock. He was assisted by Rev. Father Goyer, as subdeacon. Interment was in Notre Dame cemetery, Hull.
Chief mourners were three sons, J. M. Clairoux, Sudbury, and J. N Clairoux, Ottawa, and three daughters, Mrs. M. Allard, Ottawa; Mrs. J. T. Dionne, Sudbury, and Mrs. (Dr.) Albert Clairous, Cheneville, Que.
Indicating the high esteem in which she was held, many floral and spiritual offerings were received.

15988 Mrs. Gauthier Of Bark River Dies

Mrs. John Gauthier, 76, widely known resident of Bark River, died at 10:45 p.m., Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital. She had been ill the past four years.
She was born Laura E. Nadeau, in the village of Nadeau, July 25, 1881, and her marriage took place there Jan. 16, 1906. The family lived in Ford River before moving to Bark River in 1923.
Mrs. Gauthier was a member of St. George's Chruch and the Rosary Society. She also was a member of Trinity Circle 362, Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Harvey of Pontiac, Robert of Detroit and David of Bark River; four daughters, Mrs. George (Audrey) Bayer of Nome, Alaska, Mildred of Bark River, Mrs. Russell (Ruth) LaMotte of Birmingham, Mich., and Mrs. Donald (Theresa) Peters of Kaneohe, Hawaii; 14 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Alec Rouse of Iron Mountain.
The body was taken to the Boyle Funeral Home in Bark River. Arrangements for the services are incomplete.

Bark River - Mrs. George A. Bayer, the former Audrey Gauthier of Bark River, who is a nurse in the Alaska Native Clinic Service, is visiting here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Gauthier, before returning to Nome.
Mrs. Bayer and her husband, chief deputy U. S. Marshal at Nome, made the trip to the states by plane to take a native Eskimo patient to St. Elizabeth's hospital in Washington, D.C. After leaving Washington they visited relatives in New York and Detroit. Mr. Bayer went on to Walla Walla, Wash., to spend some time with his people and Mrs. Bayer came to Bark River. She plans to leave for Nome June 1.
Temperatures at Nome, Mrs. Bayer said, are well below zero, and the snow is just beginning to disappear.

Menasha - Mrs. Maryon Crowson, 48, of 541 Second St., Menasha, died Thursday evening.
A resident of Neenah-Menasha most of her life, she was born in Neenah Aug. 22, 1923. She was a graduate of St. Mary High School with the class of 1942.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharyon, and a son, Jeffrey, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Clyde Bunker, Neenah; two brothers, Norman Bunker, Menasha and Richard Bunker, Neenah; four sisters, Mrs. Florian Neuman, Ankery, Iowa; Mrs. Janet Herreman, Sun Prairie; Mrs. Barbara Hribernik, Neenah, and Mrs. Douglas Fredericks, Menasha.
Funeral services will be held at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, Menasha, at 9:30 a.m. Monday and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church of Menasha. The Rev. Louis Prefontine will officiate. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 8 o'clock Sunday evening.

15994 MRS. NADEAU PASSES AWAY

Well Known Resident of Powers Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Barney Nadeau, 63, died at the family home at Powers Wednesday morning at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of three years. She suffered a stroke of paralysis about three years ago from which she rallied and was able to be about her home. Recently she suffered another stroke which proved fatal.

Mrs. Nadeau was born December 10, 1869, at Big Suamico, Wis., and after her marriage went to live at Nadeau where her husband and brother-in-law, the late David Nadeau, were engaged in the timber and general merchandise business. After 45 years residence in that village, which was named after the family, they moved to Powers three years ago. She was widely and favorably known throughout that district.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Nadeau is survived by three sons and two daughter, Henry of Racine, Wis., Joseph of Trenary, George, Stella and Alice, at home. Three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Abe Houle, St., of Escanaba, Mrs. David Nadeau of Nadeau, Mrs. Archie Terrian of Pulaski, Wis., George and Merrick Chrysler of Portland, Ore., and one grandchild also survives.

Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Xavier's church at Spalding Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, with Rev. Fr. J. Schaul as celebrant at the requiem high mass. Burial will be in the family lot in Nadeau Cemetery.

Widow of the Late Barney Nadeau Dies of Old Age
Lived Here Many Years
Came to Menominee County When Railroad Was First Built Through This Section
Mrs. Barney Nadeau, Sr., ages 75 years, and one of the most prominent residents of Menominee county, died yesterday at her home at Nadeau. She has been in poor health for some time, the cause of death being general disability due to old age.
Mrs. Nadeau was born in Belgium, April 4, 1836, and when a young girl moved with her parents to Wisconsin. She was married to the late Barney Nadeau in 1856. They moved to Menominee County in the year the railroad was built and took up a homestead at Nadeau.
The deceased is survived by five sons and four daughters, 36 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The sons and daughters are Marcel of Cusino, Mich., Mrs. John Gauthier, Escanaba, Dave, Barney, Louis and Joe, Mrs. Julia St. Aubin, Mrs. Louise Dunham and Mrs. Alec Rouse, all of Nadeau.
"Grandma" Nadeau, as she was affectionately know, was a devout Catholic and the funeral wll be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Bruno's church at Nadeau.

The bishop learned on a visit in 1681 "that there had been born to the wife of Jean Demers, resident of the Lauzon coast, a child more than a month earlier, and that the father had neglected to have him baptized.
