10392 At the home of Jacques Cochon, son of Jean, notary Paul Vachon described the distribution of the property of Jean Cochon to his heirs. Present the children of Jean and Marguerite Cointerel and Jacques Sieur de la Motte, their half- brother, son of Jeanne Abraham.
The concession at Chateau-Richer consisted of 6 arpents of frontage on the river, by a league-and-a-half deep. On the property was a house with two rooms, an attic and a cellar; a barn-stable, a yard and garden, workable lands, meadows, woods and prairies. The Seigneur de Beaupre collected 6 sols for the cens and two live capons payable each year on Saint-Martin's day (11 November). The deed was free of all debts and mortgages and the cens and rent were paid up to date.
The children of Marguerite Cointerel ceded Jacques their portion on the Sieur Granderie's side as he ceded them his half on the other side. Jacques took possession of the buildings, garden, yard and the workable lands. He agreed to pay two-thirds of the deed of the concession and to bring the grain from the three other arpents in order to develop the portion falling to Jean and Marguerite.

10394 At the home of notary Rageot, Pierre agreed to lease a windmill from Nicolas Dupont, Squire and Seigneur of Neuville and also the king's councillor at the Sovereign Council. The mill was located at the summit of Mount Carmel towards Cap-aux-Diamants. This was only a few steps from the Rue Saint-Louis and the convent of the Ursulines. The conditions of lease were: Dupont would furnish them with the necessary sails, Pierre would pay half the cost but he would own them at the end of the lease. Pierre would also build a stable within one year, provide eighty-four minots of wheat each year to the landlord and grind one hundred more minot for him "without any milling". Bissonnet, Pierre (I1453)

The property included "a small house of stone, wood trimmed, with a stable at the end". Raphael Giroux agreed to pay 500 livres tournois in three installments. The buyer would also provide "four days of hauling with four oxen for the clear sowing and a man to help plow what work will be done on the said land sold by the said sellers, with the consent of the said buyer, and was reserved for them, the use of the said sold concession until the day and feast of saint Martin of this year". 10396 At the house of notary Louis Chambalon, Francois obtained an abandoned piece of land 3 arpents in width by 40 deep at La Durantaye, between neighbors Jean Baptiste Leroy and Rene Cauchon. He was given the right to fish, and to hunt, especially for partridge, for the price of 600 livres to be paid to the widow of Nicolas Leroy, Jeanne Lelievre. He gave 100 livres a year beginning on the next All Saint's Day. Special note: Francois would give the seigneur 20 sols, and "a good capon and a partridge as seigneurial rent and a sol for the cens for each arpent of frontage".
