"In the matter of the application of Peter Leonard for naturalization. Appearing to the court that the applicant made his application for naturalization more than three years since in a court of record in the this county and that he has resided in the United States for five years and within the Territory of Michigan for the year last past and that he is of good moral character and well disposed to the good of the peace and happiness of the United States and attached to the Constitution of the same. The said applicant is admitted a citizen of the United States upon his taking the oath required in such cases. Whereupon the said applicant appeared in court and took and subscribed the following oath viz: I Peter Leonard do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States. Peter Leonard's will was made on 23 Feb 1837: Lavinia was given 1/3 of all real estate and personal property and had use of the other 2/3 for the purpose of maintaining his several children: Mary Leonard, Catherin Leonard, Almira Leonard, Betsey Leonard, Adelia Leonard, and one undelivered child (Clarissa).

Peter Leonard selected Henry Jones and Lavina Leonard as his executor of his estate. Both both refused to act. Court appointed administrators were Elisha Shelden, principal administrator, and Jacob Carman and Hiram Baxter.

That deceased was, at and immediately previous to his death, an inhabitant of said County of Wayne and the he was possessed of Real & Personal Estate, situate and being in the County of Wayne to be administrated, and that the estimated value thereof is the sum of two thousand dollars or thereabout as your petitioner is informed and verily believes.

Obituary:
After a long illness, Mrs. Barbara C. Otto, widow of the late Henry A. Otto, passed asway Sunday morning at 2 o'clock at her home, 247 Oakland Avenue. Mrs Otto was taken ill in February and had suffered long and patiently from a complication of diseases. The funeral will be hled from the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Dr. J. R. J. Milligan officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Barbara C. Leonard was the youngest of seven daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Leonard. She was born in the township of Waterford April 28, 1840, and was married to Henry A. Otto November 29, 1860. To them were born six children, four of whom survive. Frank and Henry of Detroit and Mrs. Mabel Marsh and Mrs. Ray H. Newman, who made their home with their mother. A sister, Mrs. Catherine McCullough of Ypsilanti, also survives.

Aged Rush Man Take by Death
Abram Skutt, 85, Life Resident of County
Abram L. Skutt, 85, of Rush township, a life-long resident of Shiawassee County, died in his home at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday of complications of old age. For the past 10 years, Mr. Skutt has been an invalid and had been confined to a wheel chair most of that time. During the past week, his condition had been critical.
Services will he held from Knapp & Smith's Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. William Engle, of Carland, officiating. Interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Skutt was born in Middlebury township on April 15, 1855, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Skutt, Sr. At the age of 19 years, however, he moved into Rush township and had since lived in the farm home in which he died yesterday.
He was married on November 11, 1883, to Miss Katie C. White, who died in 1925.
Surviving are one son, Milo J. Skutt, who resides in his father's home; a daughter, Mrs. Ollie Crane, also of Rush township; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and on brother, L. W. Skutt, of Elsie.

Died:
87 years, 7 months, 26 days old at time of death.

HENRY VALLIERE -
A spot welder for the Budd Co. for 20 years until his retirement three years ago, Mr. Valliere died Saturday in his home at 2821 Manchester, Harper Woods. He was 60.
Mr. Valliere was born at Dollar Bay in the Upper Peninsula and lived in the Detroit area for the last 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Martha, two sisters and a brother.
Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday in the Killeen Funeral Home, 9555 Chalmers. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Harper and Bournemouth.
