- BARNEY NADEAU
Barney Nadeau, a prominet and successful man of this village since 1925, died Saturday afternoon at his home here.
He was an exceptional man. He had a mind stored with information, an interest in public affairs wide and discerning, a kindly outlook upon life, a vertable passion for making better the world in which he lived. He loved his friends and his friends - whose name is legion - loved him. He had a gift for friendship. Unassuming, unmindful of applause, apparently uncaring for conspicuous place, he won friends by his sturdiness, sympathy and generous intertst. Men like to talk with him of politics, of business affairs, of civic interests, of matters of serious moment, and of the lighter things of life. On occasion, in quiet conversation with a friend, he unveiled in simple fashion the shrine of his heart's faith. He was a believer in the best sense, having a faith to which he adhered, a vision that gave him courage and strength and ever beckoned him on.
Practically all his time was devoted to his home, church and business, although he loved to roam the forests and could see much beauty in nature's life.
