The said applicant is admitted a citizen of the United States upon his taking the oath required in such cases. Whereupon the said applicant appeared in court and took and subscribed the following oath viz: I Peter Leonard do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States. And that I do absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever and I do particularly renounce all allegiance and fidelity its defense to William Fourth King of Great Britain whose subject I have been."
