Appearing to the court that the applicant made his application for naturalization more than three years since in a court of record in the this county and that he has resided in the United States for five years and within the Territory of Michigan for the year last past and that he is of good moral character and well disposed to the good of the peace and happiness of the United States and attached to the Constitution of the same. The said applicant is admitted a citizen of the United States upon his taking the oath required in such cases. Whereupon the said applicant appeared in court and took and subscribed the following oath viz: I Peter Leonard do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States. And that I do absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever and I do particularly renounce all allegiance and fidelity its defense to William Fourth King of Great Britain whose subject I have been."
