    "au marriage du migrant, sa mere porte le nom de Marie Juin. Son frere Thomas est inhume a Fontenay-le-Comte (Notre-Dame) le 16 jan 1635, a l'age de sept mois. Sa soeur Renee est baptisee dans la meme paroisse le 28 aug 1622 ainsi que sa soeur Marie, le 2 apr 1640. Un autre frere Etienne est inhume le 4 feb 1634 a l'age de 9 ans. Sa mere, baptisee a Fontenay-le-Comte (Notre-Dame) le 26 nov 1602 est decedee dans la meme paroisse le 26 may 1662."

    Notary Paul Moreau prepared the contract of engagement between Pierre and Jacques Pepin, a ship's factor and merchant at La Rochelle. Pierre would go to Quebec and work for three years. He would be paid 36 livres per year and received an advance of 38 livres and 5 sols.

    Employment:
    An entry made in the Register of Receipts and Expenditures of the Church of Sainte-Anne-du-Petit-Cap in the year 1661-1662 stated: "to pierre michaeu (Michel) for two days three livres." Pierre must have done some manual labor on the construction of the church.
