    Julien purchased from Sieur Charles de Lauzon-Charny a part ownership of the seigneuries of Beaupre and the Ile d'Orleans. The one-eighth of the fiefdom cost 700 livres in beaver pelts. He later sold it to Mgr de Laval on 11 February 1662 for 750 livres. Notary Rouer de Villeray drew up the contract.

    Notary Claude Auber drew up the contract in the home of Toussaint. Neither spouse could sign the contract. Genevieve's brother Nicolas was present. Nicolas promised to give her clothes, furniture, and linens amounting to 200 livres and to feed the couple for two years. On their part, they would work for Nicolas and he would pay them 150 livres from the inheritance coming from Nicolas' and Genevieve's parents.
