    Employment:
    Notary Basset wrote the contract whereby Jean and Robert Henry wer hired to farm the land owne by Francois-Marie Perrot and his wife Magdeleine Laguide Meynier. The place was located at the confluence of the Saint Lawrence and the Outaouais rivers. They were to receive the following with the land: 4 work oxen, 3 cows, 1 bull and a few buildings for tools and grain storage. As payment they were to give Her Ladyship 4 minots of grain for "each arpent of land which would be worked with the plow". This grain was stored at the house of Rene Cuillerier of Lachine.

    Jean sold an area of 80 arpents to Barthelemy Lemaistre, in order pay a debt of 240 livres owed him. This included 20 minots of grain he was supposed to deliver in the fall. Lemaistre promised to pay Jean an annual rent of 17 livres. This farm had been verbally granted to Jean the year before he sold it. Father Remy, secretary of the Sulpicians, decided to grant a concession to Jean on the same day, it was situated "on the edge of Lake Saint-Louis between the point of the rapids and that of the muskrat".

    The family lived on the fief of Verdun and owned a rifle, 4 head of livestock and had 12 arpents of land under cultivation.

    Land:
    A second concession was made by the Sulpicians to Jean. It was 120 arpents on the banks of Lake Saint-Louis. This contract has, however, disappeared from the records.

    Land:
    Jean sold 120 arpents, which he had owned since 1682, to Jean Baptiste Celoron, Sieur de Balinville, Lieutenant of a Company of the Marines. Blainville paid 1500 livres for the land, in addition to a meadow. The Lalonde family still lived at the point on the Ile de Montreal.

    Death:
    He was killed in a skirmish with the Iroquois on the shores of Lac Saint-Louis. He and nine other Frenchmen who fell that day were buried at the Baie d'Urfe near the locations of what would be the church of Saint-Louis du Haut de l'Ile. These bodies were discovered in 1866 and re-interred in the church of Sainte-Anne du Bout de l'Ile.

    Inventory of assets:
    Notary Jean Baptiste Pothier came to the house of the merchant Rene Cuillerier, where the assets of Jean Lalonde had been accumulated, in order to proceed with the inventory and disposition. Jean Fournier of Lachine was present as a witness. They listed ordinary things, such as clothing, dishes, cloth bolts, 4 bars of soap, 8 axes, 2 picks, 10 sickles, 3 pounds of gunpowder, 12 pounds of lead balls, 3 minots of beans, 76 minots of corn, 1 barrel of bacon, 1 cow and 2 grunting pigs. Then came the listing of some small debts to be paid and some accounts to be collected, the largest of which was owed by "bonhomme Laprise": 15 livres and 6 sous. Some assets could not be brought to the scene of the inventory, i.e., a wild ox and 13 arpents of land with dwelling, valued at 100 livres or 100 days of work. This was the land located at Point Saint Louis at the end of the island.

    Property:
    The religious Dames of the Hotel-Dieu of Ville-Marie assigned a sum of 266 livres, derived from rents, to support the minor children of the late Jean Lalonde.
