Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bodette of Iron River arrived in the city Sunday evening, having been summoned by the death of Mr. Bodette's father.

Clifford Beaudette of Chester, Pa., is expected to arrive this morning, having been summoned by the death of his father, Nicholas Beaudette.

One of the largest funeral held in this city in many months was that which was held at St. Patrick's church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock for Nicholas Beaudette, 1617 Second avenue south, who passed away Saturday at University hospital, Ann Arbor, where he had gone to consult specialists for a serious cas of carcinoma of the throat.
Rev. Father Gerald Harrington was celebrant at the requiem high mass. Mrs. Walter O'Connell sang two hymns, "O Meritam Passionis" and "Ave Maria."
The room which the body lay pending the hour of the funeral services, was banked with beautiful floral tributes, among which were intermingled many spirtual offerings which besopke the high esteem in which the family is held by their many friends.
Rev. Father Harrington and members of the Holy Name society gathered at the home Tuesday evening and recited the rosary for the rpose of the soul of the decedent.
The casket was borne by close friends and neighbors, Julius LeCaptain, Henry Roemer, Thomas Campbell, Louis Savard, Napoleon Bernier and Norbert Ranguette.
Relatives and friends from away who came to this city for the obsequies included: Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rutledge and family, Elkhart, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. William Barker and family, Manistique; Clifford Beaudette, Chester, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beaudette, Iron River; Mr. and Mrs. Telesphore Gauthier, Mrs. Georgiana Rasicot, Nadeau; Mr. and Mrs. John Gauthier and family, Bark River; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Racicot, Schaffer; Mrs. Charles Dazer, New York City; Mrs. Jerry Beaudouin, Magolia, N.J.; Mr. and Mrs Adolph Simard. Iron Mountain; Mr. and Mrs. Adelor Page, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Firimin Beaudette, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Mrs. Charles Clare, Manistique; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parker, Neenah, Wis., and Mrs. Emil Faille, Chicago.
Others who came to this city to pay a visit of condolence and who were unable to remain for the funeral services, were Sister M. Germain of Royal Oak, Sisiter M. Amelia of Kenosha, Wis., Sister M. Columbus of Adrian, Michi., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Racicot and children of McFarland.
Interment was in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Serum Fails to Save Life
Second Victim of Dread Tetanus in Three Days - Stepped on Nail Last Monday
Tetanus has within three days time claimed two little victims in Escanaba. On Thursday afternoon John D. Howard, two and one-half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Howard succumbed to the disease after an illness of only a few days and this morning at one o'clock, Helen, the eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Baudette of St. Clair street, succumbed to the same disease.
The death of the child came as a great surprise and shock. On Monday she stepped on a nail which penetrated but a short distance into her foot. The wound healed but on Thursday evening she grew feverish and yesterday morning it was determined that she was suffering from lockjaw. The tetanus serum sent here from Chicago for the use of physicians who were battling to save the life of the Howard child, was made use of and it was thought for a time that the child's life had been saved. Late last night, however, she began to sink and death claimed her at one o'clock this morning.
The child was an exceptionally bright and lovable one and her sudden death has nearly prostrated her parents.
The body will be shipped to Nadeau this evening and burial will be made there Sunday afternoon. Father Spurline will officiate.
The child is survived by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Henry J. Bodette

Funeral services, very largely attended, were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church for Henry J. Bodette, popular you Escanaba man, and former star athlete of St. Joseph's high school and St. Norbert's college, DePerre, Rev. Fr. Edward Leary, O.F.M., officiated the requiem high mass.
The music of the requiem was sung by St. Joseph's choir, under the supervision of Miss Eva Cosette, organist-director, with the soloists of the mass, Mrs. Frank Hirn, Mrs, John Cass, Miss Mary Bink and Clayton Todd. As the body was being taken from the church at the close of the services. Mrs. John Bartel, Jr., sang "O Meritam Passions."
Burial was in the family lot in St. Joseph's cemetery. Honnorary pallbearers, members of the Knights of Columbus, were Lionel Beaumier, John Harvery, Robert LeMire, Rene Labre, Jr., John Manley and Nevin Reynolds. Active pallbearers were Robert Blomstrom, Bert Sharkey, Philip Brazeau, Ray LaPorte and Ray and Edward DeGrand.
