While passing through France in 1650, Louis Prudhomme learned that Michel had already been married and his wife was living in poverty at Sainte-Suzanne. On 8 Oct 1650, in the presence of Paul de Chomedey, according to the notes of the notary Jean de Saint-Pere, Chauvin admitted his mistake. Michel was returned to France.
