Marin from Langy, eveche de Mortagne, Perche

    Land:
Marin first work a piece of land that the Recollect Fathers had abandoned in 1629, following the surrender of Quebec to the Kirke brothers. He later took a farm, along with Thomas Hayot (his brother-in-law), in Beauport which belonged to the Jesuits.

    Inheritance:
According to the historian E. Mitchell, Marin was mentioned in Champlain's will. She states that "the Commandant of Trois-Rivieres, Marc-Antoine Bras-de-fer de Chateaufort, assumed his duties as interim governor immediately after the funeral. He presided at the reading of Champlain's will - a will whose validity was to be contested - in which a man called Marin was mentioned, and it concerns, we believe Marin, relative of Gaspard: "I give to Marin, mason, living near the house of the Recollet Fathers, the last suit that I had made from material which I got at the store," wrote Champlain."

    Land:
Maring sold his 3 arpents of frontage land on the Saint-Charles River "from the stream which separates the cleared field of the Reverand Fathers Recollets from the deserted property formerly of Jacques Caumont".

    Immigration:
Marin migrated with his wife Perrine Mallet and three sons Francois (16 years), Louis Marin (4 years) and Jean Galleran (1 year). His sister Jeanne arrived in Canada with her husband Thomas Ayotte or Hayot.

    Legal Matter:
Marin was called to give testimony on the circumstances of the voyage of Gaspard Bouchard "his relative" who also arrived in 1634.

    Land:
The Jesuit Journal reports that Marin and Thomas Hayot separated. The Journal states: "Our farmers at Beauport agreed to a separation: Boucher left & Thomas Hayot remained in charge; this was an agreement between them, without our having to do anything except consent to it". Marin took a concession next to Olivier Le Tardif on the Beaupre Coast (Chateau-Richer) and Thomas kept the farm.

    Land:
Marin obtained from Olvier Le Tardif a concession of 8 arpents 8 perches of frontage located between Claude Auber and Olivier Le Tardif at Chateau-Richer.

    Land:
Louis Houde, Marin's son-in-law, returned 1 1/2 arpents in frontage to Marin.

    Legal Matter:
Marin settled and old debt contracted from the Campagnie des Habitants. He signed a note for 176 livres for the Fabrique de Quebec.

    Land:
Marin gave son-in-law Jean Plante 2 arpents of land, which was receipted for on 7 February 1659; an increase of 8 perches on 8 July, and a right of passage on 27 September 1668 for Jean Galleran "to come and go by plow and cart above the remainder of their concession with as little disturbance as will be possible".

    Land:
Marin gave 2 arpents of land to son Jean Galleran and added an increase of 7 1/2 perches on 15 December 1662.
