The may of 1641, drawn up by surveyor Jean Bourdon, tells us that Robert's land was located to the west of Riviere-aux-Chiens, between the properties of Jacques Boissel and Claude Estienne.

    Legal Matter:
Robert, along with some other people from Beauport, was accused of plotting to kill James Bourguignon. James had sued them in the court at Quebec. They were not prosecuted.

    Employment:
Robert promised to "lease to Grouvel 200 bricks". During this time he also made planks, dry-docked the launch of Grouvel, and sowed the fields of his friends.

    Land:
Robert received a land grant from Olivier Le Tardif that consisted of 6 arpents of frontage by 126 in depth. Notary Morel signed the document.

    Guardian:
The guardianship of the two daughters of Robert and Anne Cloutier, Genevieve and Jeanne, were given to Anne's father Zacharie after her death. Over the years there were several legal battles over the girls and permanent guardianship was given to Zacharie.

    Additonal information:
After the death of Anne Cloutier, Robert decided to leave the area. He gave Zachary Cloutier temporary guardianship of his two daughters, Genevieve ad Jeanne. Robert rented his land to Julien Perreault, who agreed to allow an arpent of land to return to nature each year, but to take good care of the two cows, the helfer, the ox and the four pigs.

    Land:
Robert received a plot of land from the Jesuits that consisted of 2 arpents of frontage and a depth of 20 arpents. It was located between Jean Lanqueteau and Jean Poisson.

    Land:
Robert lived "on the farm of the Jesuit Fathers, called Notre-Dame de Bon Secours". He was granted a concession of three arpents of frontage by 20 in depth.
