    Nicolas, Jeanne, their sons Louis and Nicolas and Nicolas' mother, Anne Le Mestre, immigrated to New France in 1661. A document located in the Archives of France states:
    "On Friday the 17th of June 1661, before Michel Manichet, Royal Notary in the Vicomte of Arques, and Antoine Le Marchal, Notary of Dieppe, was present Nicolas Leroy, citizen of Dieppe, who promises by these presents to pay or to have paid to the Honorable Jean Gloria, merchant of the said Dieppe, a loan made in order to voyage to Canada, in the ship commanded by Captain Poullet of this city. Eight days after his arrival at the said place, will be paid the sum of fifty livres for the passage by the said Leroy, who admits to have received payment from the said Gloria. If there should be delay or refusal of said payment in the amount at the time aforesaid, the said Gloria may dispose of the matter as he may best see fit. Made and done, to which the said Leroy pledges himself and his belongings, in the presence of Guillaume Loy and Jacques Ledoyen of said Dieppe, Loy with initials, J. Gloria; Nicolas Leroy."

    Nicolas received a concession from Guillemette Hebert, widow of Couillard.

    Nicolas acquired two arpents in width by a mile in depth, located just to the east of the falls of Montmorency. A house was build and the family lived there until 1679 when the property was split and sold to Jacques Martelle and Rene Brisson.

    Additonal information:
    During the summer of 1669, Nicolas and Jeanne's daughter Marie was attacked and violated by Jacques Nourry (known as Pierre Maheux in Feings, France). They swore out a warrant in the name of Marie. Three doctors gave their opinions. On 10 August 1669 the Sovereign Council received a summary from the Assistant Attorney-General. The Council declared on 12 August 1669 that Jacques Nourry was guilty of the act and convicted him of violating Marie. He was condemned to "be hanged and strangled on a gallows; then his body taken to a public place where his head shall be severed and placed on a post". From Nourry's estate Marie would received 300 livres in damages. Another 100 livres would be divided in thirds, with one third going to the hospital and the other two thirds going to the Council for court costs. The remainder of his estate was confiscated by the Lord of the High Court of Beaupre.
