    He was a member of the Grande Recrue, enlisting to go to Canada. He was accepted at the Hotel-Dieu de La Fleche by Jerome LeRoyer de La Dauversiere, in the presence of notary Lafousse. His contract was for five years as a plowman and defricheur at 75 livres per year. He received 120 livres in advanced wages.

    Fellow traveler from 1653, Catherine Hurault, wife of Jean Lemarche dit Laroche, died at age 40. Her two youngest children: Catherine, 5 years and Marie Madeleine, 3 years were welcomed into the Hunault home. Catherine was married in 1695. Marie Madeleine was killed by a soldier, shot with a pistol.

    The seigneurs of Montreal, the Sulpicien fathers, owners of the island, granted Toussaint land with 4 arpents in frontage, in a place called the Saint-Francois coast.

    He bought a concession of 80 arpents in the area on the Saint-Dominique coast on the Riviere-des Praires from Claude Tardy, a merchant of the city. On this day the notary Cabazie verified that Toussaint was also a resident of this city. The next day, 8 April 1687, the Sulpiciens granted an addition to the concession of 80 arpents to the land bought the day before.

    Pierre LeRoux sold a concession of 60 square arpents on the Saint-Dominique coast to Toussaint.

    Toussaint bought 28 arpents of land from Nicolas Desroches.

    Legal Matter:
    Four contracts were signed before notary Antoine Adhemar. One established rent to the creditor, Charles de Couagne, a merchant and lender.

    Land:
    Toussaint ceded to Michel Desrosiers dit Desilets, the land that he obtained from Claude Tardy, two years earlier.

    Death:
    He was murdered by Gabriel Dumont, Baron de Blaignac, lieutenant of a company of marines. Dumont ran him through with a sword and fled after the attack. Marie and her children brought suit against Dumont, ceding their rights of inheritance and any possible damages from the trail to merchant Charles de Couagne in return for 520 livres and the dissolution of the debt that Toussaint owed Couagne.

    "cowardly assassinated by Sieur Dumont de Blaignac, lieutenant in a company of the detachement of the Navy, who fatally stabbed him with a sword, and who fled immediately afterwards."
