    MRS. NADEAU PASSES AWAY

    Well Known Resident of Powers Dies After Long Illness

    Mrs. Barney Nadeau, 63, died at the family home at Powers Wednesday morning at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of three years. She suffered a stroke of paralysis about three years ago from which she rallied and was able to be about her home. Recently she suffered another stroke which proved fatal.

    Mrs. Nadeau was born December 10, 1869, at Big Suamico, Wis., and after her marriage went to live at Nadeau where her husband and brother-in-law, the late David Nadeau, were engaged in the timber and general merchandise business. After 45 years residence in that village, which was named after the family, they moved to Powers three years ago. She was widely and favorably known throughout that district.

    Besides her husband, Mrs. Nadeau is survived by three sons and two daughter, Henry of Racine, Wis., Joseph of Trenary, George, Stella and Alice, at home. Three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Abe Houle, St., of Escanaba, Mrs. David Nadeau of Nadeau, Mrs. Archie Terrian of Pulaski, Wis., George and Merrick Chrysler of Portland, Ore., and one grandchild also survives.

    Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Xavier's church at Spalding Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, with Rev. Fr. J. Schaul as celebrant at the requiem high mass. Burial will be in the family lot in Nadeau Cemetery.

    Mrs. Barney Nadeau
    St. Francis Xavier's church at Spalding was packed to the doors Saturday morning at nine o'clock when funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Barney Nadeau of Powers who died at her home Wednesday after an illness of two years' duration.
    Rev. Fr. Joseph Schaul was celebrant at the requiem high mass. The many beautiful floral tributes and the large number of spiritual offerings which surrounded the casket were silent testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. Nadeau was held by a host of friends.
    The casket was borne by close friends of the family: A. Demers, Andrw Senechal, Wilfred Laurin, John Leigeouis, Xavier Labre, and Hubert Perros.
