      ? la r?sidence St-Laurent le 14 octobre 1982 ? l'?ge de 97 ans est dec?d? le Dr. Albert M. Cholette, epoux de feu Juliette Simard. Le docteur A. M. Cholette est n? le 18 juillet 1885, ? St-Philippe d'Argenteuil, au Qu?bec.
      Ses ?tudes classiques au "S?minaire Ste-Th?r?se" furent couronn?es de la mention "Summa cum Laude", ainsi que son dipl?me de docteur en m?decine, a l'Universit? Laval de Montr?al, de 1907 ? 1911.
      Apr?s avoir termin? son internat ? l'H?tel-Dieu de Montr?al, sur l'invitation de Mgr. Vincent Piette, cur? fondateur de la paroisse St-Stanislas de Kostka, il s'y installe comme m?decin de famille, avec son ?pouse, Juliette Simard Cholette, en 1911.
      En 1912, avec une ?quipe de jeunes m?decins volontaries, a lieu la fondation de "L'Institut Bruch?si" dispensaire de th?rapie pour la tuberculose, qui fait de grands ravages dans la province et partout ailleurs ? cette ?poque.
      En 1922, il fait un stage d'?tudes au "Sanatorium de Saranac Lake", alors le centre le plus r?put? de phtisiologie aux ?tats-Unis.
      En 1923, un autre stage d'?tudes au "New York Medical Post Graduate Hospital".
      Fondateur de "La Goutte de Lait" dans sa paroisse, il soigne des milliers de nourrissons, pendant 25 ann?es.
      En plus, suite ? la guerre de 1914, il fut en devoir jour et nuit, lors de la terrible ?pid?mie de la "grippe espagnole", qui prit l'ampleur d'une catastrophe nationale.
      Il fut le premier secr?taire ? la fondation de "La Soci?t? de Phtisiologie" de 1922 ? 1930. En plus il fut assistant professeur ? la clinique de phtisiologie de l'Institut Bruch?si en 1930.
      Suite ? une th?se d'agr?gation, il devient professeur agr?g? ? la chaire de Phtisiologie de "L'Universit? de Montr?al", de 1943 ? 1950.
      On ne peut passer sous silence les nombreus travaux scientifiques ?crit par le docteur Cholette et les nombreuses tourn?es de conf?rences dans les paroisses de Montr?al, pour ?duquer le public en vue des dangers de la contagion de la tuberculose et aussi pour son d?pistage.
      En 1940, il est pr?sident de la "F?deration des Soci?t?s M?dicales de la Province de Qu?bec" pendant 8 ann?es.
      En 1963, le "Coll?ge des M?decins et Chirurgiens" et en 1968, "L'Association des M?decins de Langue Fran?aise", lui expriment des hommages m?rit?s par son d?vouement et sa comp?tence m?dicale.
      En 1964, le docteur Cholette prend sa retraite de "L'Institut Bruch?si", o? on le f?te et lui d?cerne un dipl?me d'honneur pour 52 ann?es de fid?les et consciencieux services rendus aux malades pulmonaires.
      Cependant il continue, m?me au ralenti, ? soigner ses patients au bureau jusqu" ? l'?ge de 88 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Jacqueline (Mme Baxter Richer), Mme. Suzanne Longtin, le Dr. Jean-Paul Cholette, le Dr. Raymond Cholette (Janine Rielle), le Dr. Claude Cholette (Dr. Collette Perras), Mme Francoise C. P?russe, le Dr. Gilles Cholette, Mme Alain C.       Dr. Albert M. Cholette

      At the St-Laurent residence the 14 October 1982 at the age of 97 years died Dr. Albert M. Cholette, husband of the late Juliette Simard. Dr. A. M. Cholette was born 18 July 1885, in St-Philippe d'Argenteuil, Quebec.
      His classical studies at "Ste-Th?r?se Seminare" were crowned with the words "Summa cum Laude" and his doctorate in Medicine, Laval University in Montreal, from 1907 to 1911.
      After completing his internship at the Hotel-Dieu de Montreal at the invitation of Mgr. Vincent Piette, founding pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, he settled as a family doctor, with his wife, Juliette Cholette Simard, in 1911.
      In 1912, with a young team of volunteer doctors, held the foundation of "The Institute Bruch?si" therapy clinic for tuberculosis, which cause great havoc in the province and elsewhere at that time.
      In 1922 he held a seminar on "Sanatorium Saranac Lake," then the most famous center of phthisiology in the United States.
      In 1923, another seminar on "New York Post Graduate Medical Hospital".
      Founder of "The Milk Drop" in his parish, he treated thousands of infants, for 25 years.
      In addition, following the 1914 war, he was on duty day and night, during the terrible epidemic of "Spanish flu" that took the proportions of a national disaster.
      He was the first secretary to the foundation of "The Society of Phtisiology" from 1922 to 1930. In addition he was an assistant professor at the phtisiology clinic Bruch?si Institute in 1930.
      Following a thesis aggregation, he became an associate professor, the Chair of Phtisiology at The University of Montreal, from 1943 to 1950.
      One can not ignore the many scientific works written by Dr. Cholette and numerous lecture tours in the parishes of Montreal, to educate the public to the dangers of contagion of tuberculosis and also for its screening.
      In 1940, he was president of the "Federation of Medical Societies of the Province of Quebec" for 8 years.
      In 1963, the "College of Physicians and Surgeons" and in 1968 "The Association of French Language Practice" expressrd he deserved tributes by his dedication and medical expertise.
      In 1964, Dr. Cholette retired from "The Bruch?si Institute", with great fanfare and they awarded him an honorary diploma for 52 years of loyal and dedicated services to lung patients.
      However, he continued, even when retired, to treat patients at his office until the age of 88 years.
      He is survived by his children Jacqueline (Mrs. Baxter Richer), Mrs. Suzanne Longtin, Dr. Jean-Paul Cholette, Dr. Raymond Cholette (Janine Rielle), Dr. Claude Cholette (Dr. Collette Perras), Ms. Francoise C. P?russe, Dr. Gilles Cholette, Mrs. Alain C. Pr?fontaine (Monique), Juliette H. Cholette, his daughter-in-law Mrs. Geraldine Johnson (Ren?).
      The funeral will be on Saturday 16 October. The funeral procession will start at the salon -
      Urgel Bourgiet and J. R. Deslauriers, 5650 Cote-des-Neiges -
      to the place of burial. Relatives and friends are requested to attend without further invitation. Donations to the Foundation of the Hotel-Dieu de Montreal would be appreciated. Visiting hours 5 o'clock to 10 o'clock.
